Exterior Permits · Raleigh / Wake County · waitlist
Find Wake County homeowners who just pulled a permit. Win your next job.
Homeowners in Wake County pull permits for decks, solar and roofing. The records are public, but the raw county feed is hard to use. We're testing a weekly list sorted for contractors. On the county layer today, decks and solar show up more than roofing; City of Raleigh coverage is planned once we can use that data. Join the waitlist and we'll email you if it launches.
The permits are public. Finding the jobs in them is the hard part.
You only hear about the jobs you win. Every other new deck or roof in your area happens without you.
By the time you see the dumpster, the job is gone. Driving around for yard signs tells you who already won it.
The county's raw feed isn't built for contractors. It mixes new homes, pools, sheds and commercial work with free-text descriptions. Pulling out your trade takes real time every week.
This isn't a lead marketplace. There are no per-lead fees and no bidding. It's Wake County's own permit records, sorted by trade.
What you'll get
Now: a spot on the waitlist, plus the sample below so you can judge the data yourself.
If it launches: a weekly email of new deck, solar and roofing permits from the Wake County layer (towns below — not City of Raleigh until licensed). Each permit shows:
Town (or "Wake County" for unincorporated)
Work class / trade
Short description
Declared valuation
Issue date
Contractor of record, when listed
Link to the public county permit record
Not included: homeowner names, phone numbers or mailing addresses. The county layer has no site-address field, so each permit links to its record instead.
Trades covered (v1)
Decks · Roofing · Solar. Siding, windows, fences and pools aren't included yet.
Coverage, honestly
This waitlist is county-layer only today. It is not a full City of Raleigh permit feed.
Today's sample uses the Wake County building-permits layer. It covers unincorporated Wake County and towns like Wendell, Knightdale, Rolesville and Zebulon.
City of Raleigh: almost none of those permits appear here. Raleigh issues its own permits. We have not verified a license to use the City of Raleigh open-data feed, so we are not including City of Raleigh rows and we are not claiming city-wide Raleigh coverage.
Cary: same situation — city-issued permits; not decided; not in this sample.
Roofing on the county layer is thin (live sample counts on the page). Decks and solar show up more often in the towns the county layer actually covers.
When/if the City of Raleigh license is verified, we can add that feed and say so on this page. Until then, join for Wake County towns + unincorporated areas only.

How it works
Join the waitlist. Email only. No card.
We build the Raleigh / Wake list. We pull new county permits, keep decks, roofing and solar, and drop the rest.
If it launches, you get it by email. A short weekly list you can work: mail the neighbors, knock on the block, or see which contractors are active in your towns.
FAQ

Decks, roofing and solar.

No. No phones and no owner mailing addresses.
Where does the data come from?
Wake County Government building permit records, licensed CC BY 4.0.

No. You'll hear from us when the list launches, not before.
