How to use this

Every permit on this list is a house with work going on right now. The job itself is usually signed already, but the neighbors and the next project are open:

How we count

We count residential permits (single-family, two-family and townhouse) whose description matches one of five exterior trades, by the month they were issued, in Central time. New homes, garages, basement finishes, egress windows and additions (other than decks) are left out. Each permit counts once. The City updates records after the fact, so a month's count can shift slightly in later pulls. Full method: data source.

Data note: Minneapolis figures come from the City of Minneapolis CCS_Permits open data, pulled 2026-10-15; Brooklyn Park figures come from the City of Brooklyn Park's monthly permit reports, as of 2026-10-16. Counts under 5 are shown as "fewer than 5".
